The world! The intrigue! The lore!

I am impatiently waiting for the second and third books to come in at the library but wow, what a stunning first book in a series.

Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse is an epic fantasy inspired by pre-Columbian and Mesoamerican cultures with:

• multi POV with fantastic characters

• a deeply religious world with multiple cults, gods, and ways of worship

• backstabbing priests!!! a god rising after 1000 years!!!

• crows that can talk

• prophecies, assassination attempts, maybe even some romance?

Did I just find my favorite series of the year with only 2 months left?
